The Fortuner range includes a 2.7L petrol (164 hp), a 4.0L V6 petrol (235 hp), a 2.4L diesel (147 hp, 400 Nm) and a 2.8L diesel (201 hp, 500 Nm). All use a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
Power ranges from 147 hp on the 2.4L diesel to 235 hp on the 4.0L V6, while torque peaks at 500 Nm on the 2.8L diesel — the strongest choice for hauling and off-road pulling.
Yes. Two diesels are offered: a 2.4L with 147 hp and 400 Nm, and a 2.8L with 201 hp and 500 Nm. The 2.8L diesel returns up to 14.6 km/L, the most efficient in the range.
Every Fortuner variant seats seven across three rows, with rear air-conditioning vents. Its body-on-frame build and tall stance suit families who also want genuine off-road ability.
Most variants use four-wheel drive (the GX2 4X2 is rear-wheel drive) with hill-start assist and a tall 1,835 mm body for ground clearance. It is built on a rugged ladder frame for rough terrain and desert tracks.
Every variant lists driver, front-passenger and driver-knee airbags, plus ABS, vehicle stability control, traction control and hill-start assist. Higher trims add a blind-spot monitor and a 360-degree camera.
Advanced driver aids are limited: only the top 2.8L diesel (VX2-S DSL) gets Toyota Safety Sense with adaptive cruise, pre-collision, lane departure alert and blind-spot monitor. Most other variants use manual cruise and no ADAS.
The VX3-S (4.0L V6) and VX2-S DSL (2.8L diesel) are the best-equipped, adding ventilated front seats, a 360-degree camera, powered tailgate, wireless charging and push-button start over the GX2 and VX1 trims.
The diesels are most efficient, at up to 14.6 km/L (2.8L) and 14.2 km/L (2.4L). The 2.7L petrol returns about 10.3 km/L and the 4.0L V6 around 9.6 km/L.
All variants use an 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and six speakers. Higher trims add navigation, wireless charging and a 360-degree camera, though the screen size stays the same across the range.
